Name:     Tony aka Dtone

Age:        31

Location: Marbella, Spain

Style:      Funky/Soulful House, Old School Garage, Hip-Hop and R&B

History: I started back in 1991 playing old school hardcore and New Jack Swing (R&B today). Old school hardcore is the birth of a number of music genre today from Break Beat, Techno and  Drum & Bass. With artist like Acen, Prodigy, Mickey Finn and many more, they have push the underground dance music of what it is today.

Old school hardcore  then started evolving to Jungle in 92/93' where the influence of Reggae or Ragga music (dancehall) with dub track and a heavy bass line and a fast tempo of 140+ bpm. Jungle then evolve to Drum & Bass and now most country around  the world has a huge following to what D&B is today.

New Jack Swing evolve to what R&B is now. With artist like Bobby Brown, Guy, SWV , Keith Sweat just to name a few. The major influence of the New jack Swing era was a singer, songwriter, producer Teddy Riley. Teddy Riley was part of the group called Guy and after the split of the band, he carried on and started a new  group called Blackstreet with  massive tracks like  "baby be mine" and "No Diggity". His also produce the album for Michael Jackson "Dangerous" back 1991' with the hits like "Remember the Time" and "Jam".

In 94/95' I started to diverse my style of music and progress to House & Garage. Still having a soft spot for R&B, House and Garage  was a perfect transition me. With soulful lyrics and influence with gospel and disco  music, it was perfect for me to develop my skills and knowledge of the dance music scene. Big tunes from Aretha Franklin to Ce Ce Peneston. House music today is as big now as it its then, and keeps growing.
